New Year, always makes us feel something very fresh and most of us take a resolution. We always hope for the best to happen for whole year. We are curious to know about our future and we carry some kinda expectancies with us. Some people always have positive thinking on whatever happens and few have negative views...
Likewise, this TV show has chose to discuss on the basis of curiosity that everyone posses to know about the future.
The topic of this week's debut is, 'What is going to happen for each Zodiac this year, 2014?'.
Gopinath clearly mentions in the beginning of the show, that this week's topic doesn't discuss whether to believe in astrology or not. The guest speakers were two famous astrologers Shelvi and Vidhyadharan and two modern guests Badhri and Mohan.
Discussion and debut will have two groups of people taking for and against the topic. Likewise, here in the show there were two groups. On one side, were public people. On another side were the Astrologers from Tamil Nadu.
The show begun with the question, 'How do the public judge or identify to be a genuine astrologer?'. Many people came out with different points on how and what basis they trust an astrologer.
Secondly, Gopinath questions the astrologers, 'what do you say will happen this year?'. The Astrologers came up telling that there would be storm in November, definitely earthquake, religious riots, any leader will be killed and so on... Most funny thing said is, America and Pakistan will join hands to attack India. One of them said that Indian economy will get higher leading to value of Indian rupees higher. One last was, crops will be too much in demand.
Then the show actually started when the astrologers were asked to tell their predictions on each zodiac. I've simplified their predictions below.
Zodiac with positive note:
Rishabham, Kanni, Magharam, Thulam, Mithunam, (Meenam, Mesham),
Zodiac with negative note:
Mesham, Viruchagham, Meenam, Thanusham, Kumbham, Simham, (Mithunam, Kanni)
In this, Meenam, Mesham, Mithunam & Kanni were told to be on positive and negative note by different astrologers.
Then the question moved on a common one, which every Indian is looking forward for, Will ISRO's Mangalyaan reach the orbit Mars successfully? Ofcourse, most of the astrologers said it will happen. And a few said it wouldn't.
There was a huge argument between astrologers themselves on how any prediction should or shouldn't be done.
I personally fell that the entire discussion wasn't a healthy one. Because, Gopinath mentions in the beginning that this show is not to debut whether astrology is true or not... Whether to believe or not to.... But he invites two modern faces, one from engineering background and another from medical background. Gopinath asks them, 'Badhri, how do you see these things(Astrology)?
I personally feel, this question shouldn't be asked. Not all people think same. Each and every erson have their own characteristics features. In the same way, belief differs from each people. But this week's episode, wasn't conducted to discuss about the individual's belief. It was about the Curiosity to know what is going to happen for each zodiac. Bringing up two popular astrologers was good, as they spoke relevant to the day's topic. But I really can't understad why were the Badhri and Mohan invited to speak out what they believe? Such a flop show.
Shelvi raised a question on Mohan's view which he expected little more explanation. Mohan was trying to answer Shelvi's question and was bit stammering. But didn't manage to explain it or he didn't know how to tackle the situation. At that point, Gopinath spoke on favour of Mohan, telling that he wouldn't have mentioned it in the way you understood, it would have been the other way.
Finally, the show ended with a Poll. It was to know who will win this year's election? All the astrologers dropped in their votes and the box was sealed in front of everyone. Gopinath said that the box will be opened to find which party was maximum voted, only after the actual election results is announced.
However, the conclusion of the show was really good. As pre-scripted every time, Neeya Naana's conclusion was acceptable.
